Thought I’d start the blog with something fairly soft and pretty – flowers! I’m currently using flowers as my blog banner, they brighten up my day and, as girls, we’re always surrounded by them in one way or another. Why not share a bit about them?

Couple of random facts about two of my favourite flowers:
– Roses are related to almonds, apples, raspberries, nectarines, cherries, peaches, plums, nectarines and pears.
– Tulip bulbs can be substituted for onions in a recipe. No wonder they were more valuable than gold in Holland in the 1600s! Did they know how to grow any onions back then? 😉
Most cocktails in Thailand come with orchids as a bonus. Sometimes dishes do too! Note: I expect a few of my upcoming posts to be somewhat related to my travels to Thailand, it’s only been a month since I’ve been back…

They also grow orchids in farms – like we would grow lettuce, for example.

They’re one of the best things I like to gift to others…and to myself! Few things beat waking up next to a colourful bouquet of flowers on a cloudy, grey day.
That’s it from me for today! Hugs and… flowers x
